BECOMING A DA BEI ZHOU COMPASSION MESSENGER

The Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger Program is a unique program that empowers you to learn and spread the sacred Da Bei Zhou and deepen your connection with Kuan Yin and the 87 Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of Da Bei Zhou.

Da Bei Zhou means the Greatest Compassion Mantra. “Da” means greatest or big. “Bei” means compassion. “Zhou” means mantra. Each line of the mantra is connected to a buddha, bodhisattva, saint or Heaven’s king devoted to serving all souls.

The history and wisdom of Da Bei Zhou run deep. For centuries, spiritual seekers have chanted this powerful mantra to create a field of light, love, and healing for themselves and others. When chanted with sincerity, compassion, and the intention to serve all souls, Da Bei Zhou offers profound blessings—not only for the one chanting, but for every soul who receives its sacred vibrations.

As you learn to chant Da Bei Zhou with devotion and precision, you cultivate greater compassion, inner peace, and spiritual strength. You’ll also gain the tools and confidence to share this sacred practice with others—offering healing, upliftment, and hope to those in need.

This program is not just about learning a mantra; it is about becoming a vessel of love and compassion in service to all souls.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

The Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger Program empowers you to learn and chant Da Bei Zhou, the Greatest Compassion Mantra, in the original melody, tone, and pace as it was taught directly by Kuan Yin to Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha.

As a student in this program, you will:

•   Learn the spiritual meaning and significance of each line of Da Bei Zhou, as taught by Master Sha.
•   Deepen your connection with Kuan Yin and the 87 Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of Da Bei Zhou.
•   Receive guidance to chant with accuracy, devotion, and confidence.
•   Receive blessings from Kuan Yin and the 87 Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of Da Bei Zhou each time you chant the mantra from your heart.
•   Gain the skills and confidence to offer Compassion Messenger blessings and lead group chanting sessions in person or online.
•   Expand your capacity to serve with greater love, compassion, and light.

Included with your tuition, you will receive the Tao Golden Light Ball and Golden Liquid Spring for Compassion Messenger Transmission, empowering you to offer blessings to yourself and others.

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, you will be eligible to apply for the Kuan Yin Lineage Holder Program—a next step on your sacred journey. You will also receive Certification as a Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger, with specific spiritual authorities to serve others.







PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION

The Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger Program is open to all who feel called to deepen their chanting practice and spiritual service. Registration for all students closes Saturday, August 1, 2026.

For new students

•   There are no prerequisites.
•   Spiritual approval is required to participate.
•   Complete the online application to receive spiritual guidance and take the next step toward registration.
•   Tuition: $1,000 CAD
•   Application deadline for spiritual approval: Saturday, August 1, 2026


For returning students (repeaters)

•   Students who previously enrolled in the Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger program but did not successfully pass the chanting assessment or complete other certification requirements are welcome to repeat the program and receive full support throughout their training.
•   Spiritual approval is not required for repeaters.
•   Tao Academy will send the registration link directly to eligible students who did not pass the chanting assessment and may wish to repeat the training to become certified.
•   Repeater tuition: $300 CAD

LANGUAGE

This training program will be offered in English. Translation support may be available in Dutch, French, and German depending on student registration and translator availability. Please note that not all VODs, written materials, handouts, assessments, or course resources may be available in every translated language. In addition, all official communications from Tao Academy will be provided in English only.

COURSE SCHEDULE

The following elements will be delivered through the Tao Academy e-Learning system. Replays will be available on your course player through March 31, 2027.

•   One (1) Live Orientation Class: Saturday, August 8, 2026, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm ET

•   Four (4) Videos-on-Demand VODs: released Mondays, August 10 and 31, September 21, and October 12, 2026

•   Six (6) Live Coaching Sessions (60–75 minutes each): Thursdays, August 13, September 3 and 24, October 15, November 5 and 26, 2026, 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm ET

•   Chanting Assessment Period: Monday, November 30, 2026 through Monday, January 4, 2027

•   Certification Workshop: Saturday, January 16, 2027, 10:00 am–4:00 pm ET

•   Practitioner Session Reports Due: Monday, February 15, 2027

STUDENT SUPPORT

In addition to the VODs, live classes, coaching sessions, and training resources, students will receive personalized support throughout the program. To help you learn, memorize and confidently chant Da Bei Zhou, you will receive a special Kuan Yin Lineage Holder Crown Chakra Blessing to Learn and Memorize Da Bei Zhou during the live Orientation Class. This blessing is offered once per student and will not be repeated for returning participants.

You’ll also be paired—either by choice or assignment—with an Accountability Partner (in your native language whenever possible) to practice together and offer mutual encouragement. Both of you will be supported by a Kuan Yin Compassion Facilitator, an experienced Kuan Yin Lineage Holder dedicated to helping you on your journey.

Kuan Yin Compassion Facilitators walk alongside you, offering guidance, encouragement, and compassionate support. They create a safe, supportive space to help you stay on track as you deepen your connection to Da Bei Zhou and the path of service

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Participants must complete the following requirements to become certified as a Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger. 

1.   Attend the Orientation Class and receive the Kuan Yin Lineage Holder Crown Chakra Blessing to Learn and Memorize Da Bei Zhou.
2.   Complete four (4) VOD classes (or watch the replay).
3.   Attend six (6) live coaching sessions.
4.   Complete the Da Bei Zhou chanting assessment with an assigned Kuan Yin Lineage Holder assessor.
     –   To pass, you must chant Da Bei Zhou from memory with at least 80 per cent accuracy in melody, tone, pace, and pronunciation, as directly taught to Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha by Kuan Yin, without using any supporting materials.
     –   Students are encouraged to complete the chanting assessment by Monday, January 4, 2027. If you are not yet ready to pass by this date, you may continue practicing and complete the assessment at a later time.
5.   Attend the Certification Workshop and receive the Tao Golden Light Ball and Golden Liquid Spring for Compassion Messenger Transmission.
6.   Complete, submit and successfully pass the evaluation of five (5) Practitioner Session Reports in accordance with the guidelines provided. (See more information below).
7.   Sign the Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger Training Agreement. Once all requirements are fulfilled, you may generate and download your official Compassion Messenger certificate through the Tao Academy portal.

Certification and Kuan Yin Lineage Holder Eligibility

Students who have not yet passed the chanting assessment by Monday, January 4, 2027 will still be eligible to receive the Compassion Messenger Transmission at the Certification Workshop and begin offering Compassion Messenger blessings. They may also complete and submit their five Practitioner Session Reports to become certified as a Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger.

To be eligible to apply for the Kuan Yin Lineage Holder Program, students must first successfully pass the Da Bei Zhou chanting assessment. The assessment may be completed after the program whenever the student feels ready.


CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP

All students are invited to attend the Da Bei Zhou Compassion Messenger Certification Workshop on Saturday, January 16, 2027. 

During this workshop, you will:

•   Receive the Tao Golden Light Ball and Golden Liquid Spring for Compassion Messenger.
•   Learn the guidelines and best practices for offering Compassion Messenger blessings.
•   Learn how to conduct and submit Practitioner Session Reports (PSRs). 
•   Hear about ongoing opportunities for learning, practice and monthly support gatherings.
•   Discover the next steps on your journey as a Compassion Messenger.

Students who have not yet passed the Da Bei Zhou chanting assessment may still attend the workshop, receive the Compassion Messenger Transmission, and continue working toward certification by completing their chanting assessment when they are ready. Passing the chanting assessment is required before applying to the Kuan Yin Lineage Holder Program.


PRACTITIONER SESSION REPORTS

One requirement for certification is to complete, submit and successfully pass the evaluation of five (5) Practitioner Session Reports (PSRs) after receiving the Compassion Messenger transmission. These reports document your experience and the results of offering Compassion Messenger blessings according to the guidelines provided.

PSRs are an important part of the training. They help you apply your learning in real service, build confidence in offering blessings, and deepen your connection with Kuan Yin and the 87 Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of Da Bei Zhou.

•   Each PSR must be submitted individually using the online form available on your Tao Academy course page. You will answer a series of questions for each submission.
•   To be eligible for certification, all five PSRs must be submitted by Monday, February 15, 2027. Once all five of your PSRs have been evaluated, you will be notified of your overall results. Please allow time for the review process, as each submission is carefully reviewed.

PROGRAM POLICIES AND REFUND INFORMATION

Please review the Tao Academy Student Refund Policy for details regarding cancellations, withdrawals, and eligibility for refunds. Due to spiritual consideration, no refunds will be given for Tao Light Transmissions once received.
